Gay left-wing activist and THW volunteer Ortwin Passon moves between a military-like bourgeois world and wild sex parties. He has been writing his dissertation on barebacking and the general political and criminal relevance of unprotected anal intercourse between men in Germany for quite some time.

Passon, who is HIV-positive, wants to draw a legal distinction between “unreflected risky behavior without intent” (unsafe sex) and “intentional, risk-conscious, consensual, unprotected sex” (barebacking).
