Israelis and Palestinians meet every day at the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. They visit the zoo and work side by side. What would be normal in many other places in the world happens under extreme conditions here, where violence and war break out time and again. Although the people come from the same city, their realities are miles apart and marked by deep rifts in society. In the midst of the animals, their togetherness gives the impression that it is easy for individuals in the zoo microcosm to approach others.

“Holy Zoo” discovers an extraordinary place at the heart of the Middle East conflict and dares to revive the questions of utopia and hope in a hopeless situation.
